In May of 2005, soon after the arrival of our beautiful new Charles Walter piano, the Session of NCPC created a task force for the purpose of designing a program for its best use. That task force became known as
Mountain Community Music and Arts Association (MCMAA)
Community
We are especially fortunate to enjoy a working relationship with the Graduate Program in Collaborative Piano, in the University of Colorado School of Music. Much of our success is due to the ongoing technical, talent and inspirational support we get from our relationship with the folks behind the Aspen Meadows House Concerts.
ActivitySince the creation of MCMAA we have organized 27 concerts, many art exhibits and a music workshop for children. We've also arranged for dozens of piano recitals for local piano teachers. View some of our past concerts and shows.

The vision MCMAA arose from the understanding that when people, especially children, encounter beauty, the experience speaks to the “deep structure” of their being. And when people, especially children, are taught to create beauty, they are more likely to experience personal transformation and move toward becoming more fully developed human beings, in mind, body and spirit. The arts and religious faith have always been closely related because art has the power to move the human spirit, reminding us of the transcendence of God. As light overcomes darkness, goodness and beauty have the power to overcome evil. If you have a similar vison and would enjoy
working with the MCMAA steering committee to plan future concerts and
events, you are invited to join us.
The mission
The mission of MCMAA is to promote music and art in and around the Nederland community through a program of concerts, art exhibits and advocacy for the arts, and to provide opportunities for music and art education and performance.
