Guyer Garden

Guyer Garden is created to be a place

of peaceful retreat for our community

located right in the center of town.

Snuggled next to Beaver Creek,

the sights and sounds of garden

will be a place to

sit and rest, meditate,

or have a quiet conversation.

Guyer Garden is dedicated
in honor of Nederland pioneers

Lois and Brownlee Guyer

In the spirit of their hospitality

Welcome!

Guyer Garden Picnic, 2007

A great fun time for the community and for us, our August picnic resulted in a huge boost to our Garden Development Fund.

Drawing of bridge, as designed

When complete, Guyer Garden will feature a circular pitted conversation area defined by a sitting wall tucked in and among the natural boulders.  The sunken area will give the feeling of seclusion and provide a natural connection with the creek.

In the future, stone may cover the floor of the conversation area and may include a small labyrinth or other design.  Natural shrubs and plantings around the conversation area will serve as an environmental barrier and a visual screen.

A bridge across Beaver Creek will connect the parking lot with paths leading into the garden and conversation area. This creek crossing will increase the use of city parking and serve as another link in the Nederland foot path.

If you would like to contribute to the development of Guyer Garden

with a tax-deductible gift in honor of Lois and Brownlee Guyer, you are invited to do so.

Checks should be made out to NCPC with “Guyer Garden” in the memo and sent to:

The families of Brownlee and Lois will receive an acknowledgement of your gift. Thank You!
